I have copd with emphysema now. I am on 3 breathers and nebulizer meds. I never have a day that is not hard to breath and it is scary trying to get air. I never paid the doctor much notice when he warned me. My worst fear has always been to suffocate ….and now I am :(

    like you I’m hoping …
like you I’m hoping I can be around for awhile so I keep searchng for good mortality stories and I must say they are rare . I stopped smokng 2 years ago after a heart attack it took another year to discover the COPD and frankly I’m havng more trouble breathing now . I asked the same question and the average I got was 5 to 12 years from diagnosis with the exception of longer . There is no recovery yet but lung reduction or transplant are options . I hope this doesn’t sound negative .
