Thom Yorke has a truly exquisite voice. I read once that he hates how “pretty” it sounds, but I feel that it creates the perfect contrast between the singer and the song – rage, fear, pain and alienation expressed in a voice blessed with choirboy purity. A masterclass in raw talent for those fake plastic “artists” of today.

it’s hard to say wether this came before the recorded version. I know this performance is from “MTV most wanted 94″. but the recorded version is actually from a live performance from the astoria gig in 94. only difference being that thom re-recorded the vocals. you should check out the astoria performance. sorry I wasn’t much help.
