How do I auscultate the heart and lung sounds of an iguana?
September 30th, 2009 | by admin |I’m a Nursing student, and for practice I tried to find the heart and lung sounds on my iguana. I can’t find any at all, short of scales scratching on my diaphragm.
To hear the heart sounds place the stethoscope on the thorax in between the front legs. It can be hard to hear, make sure the surroundings are quiet and you may try placing a damp towel between your stethoscope and the iguana to decrease rubbing noises from the scales. Respiratory sounds are hard to hear as well. Just move your scope around.
