You need to increase you cardiovascular capacity. They only way to do that is through training. There is no easy way.

Lung exercises may be ok for singing but it does very little for your cardiovascular system.

Um, start cycling. Work out, keep your heart rate up and all that. Remember: practice doesn’t make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect. Start cycling the right way now, even if this means trainers, and you’ll be in tip-top shape in no time.

This is something I tell my singing students. This exercise has three variants. The first variant; when you’re sitting around or whatnot, breathe in for a count of four, hold for a count of four, and exhale likewise. The second variant is; inhale until you cannot possibly inhale anymore, hold until you can’t hold anymore, and likewise exhale. The third variant is; when you’re walking, breathe in for ten steps, hold for ten steps, release for ten steps. You can do this as much as you need/want to. Just remember, the more often, the better. Though, I advise you to do three sets of whichever variation, breath regularly for a couple minutes, then repeat.

1. Ride hard, ride long, ride often.
2. Go out for track and cross country at school.
3. And yes, as Vladimir suggests, cross country skiing is awesome cross training for weather challenged cyclists.

Swimming is an excellent exercise to help increase lung capacity. Keep in mind however, you cannot make any great gains in capacity, but you can improve the efficiency of your cardiovascular system through exercise
