Where is the nearest hospital where they do lung transplants

Strictly the nearest is probably Boston. As for Canadian, MAYBE Montreal.

The hospital is not your choice. You go where your doctor wants you to go.
You say you need a transplant IF you are a candidate. I know you have to complete the lung rehabilitation class. You have to be in a good weight range. There are several other items in the criteria. They really don’t (or won’t) perform the surgery if you are over 61 years old. You have to be mentally ready also.
I too needed a transplant. I turned it down. I would be interested in knowing how old you are & what they used as your diagnosis for the transplant. I would appreciate it if you would email me & tell me. It is always interesting to hear from someone else with the same medical problems you have.

Yeah, contratry to the previous answer, health care is YOUR choice as the patient.

America is really the only choice that patients have Autonomy and can choose for themselves all aspects of their care. If you want a choice, I would suggest coming into america, because in Canada, you don’t have the choice of where to go.

Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh, PA is one of the world’s leading transplant hospitals, and you will certainly find excellent care here!
