I need to start taking Prednisone for a sinus/lung infection.?

October 7th, 2009 | by admin |

Will taking it for only a week make me feel like a half-dead bloated cod fish?

How long will it take before I start feeling like crap?

How soon after I stop taking it will I feel normal again?

Is there anything I can do to keep from feeling so horrible when I take it?

Thanks for your answers.

yes you will feel like a south atlantic bean fried cheese weasle while taking it for a week

the day after you stop taking it youll feel normal again

there is nothing to stop the crappy feeling sorry

good luck

Usually prednisone makes you feel incredibly great for the first week or two (at least that’s what it did for me), and one week is not enough to cause bloating. The worst thing you will probably experience is sleep disruption, but you can minimize this by taking the pills once per day, the first thing in the morning. Some doctors prescribe the pills several times per day, which does cause people to feel bad. There is no basis for this because the biological half-life is about 36-48 hours.

Everytime I have a bout of pneumonia, the doctor puts me on a medrol dose pack. (prednisone) The only symptoms I get are a general nervous, edgy feeling. Maybe when it stops the inflammation, you will feel so much better that you won’t notice the side effects. Feel better soon! ;-)
