Can someone explain the effects or pot to me?

November 3rd, 2009 | by admin |

I only mean like, what it does to your brain. I don’t want to hear about what it does to your heazrt or lungs or anything, or the feeling of being high. I know all those. What I want to know is why has it made me lazy, what does it do to you bran? What chemicals does it throw off? Can smoking pot lead to depression and other mental disorders and chemical imbalances?

It can lead to some depression, but that usually clears up when you stop.

People with bipolar disorder should stay away from pot because it often makes the mood swings worse.

Other than that, pot is safer than cigarettes and alcohol.

"Erowid is an online library containing thousands of pages of information about psychoactive drugs, plants, and chemicals, including entheogens, psychedelics…"

the active ingredient in marijuana known as THC is known in the medical field as a depressant and mild hallucinogen (anyone debating the hallucinogenic properties should refer to a dictionary for what hallucinations mean). Smoking pot has been proven to trigger and aggravate psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia and bipolar. It also throws your brain into a spin as any drug with hallucinogenic properties does. It slows and impairs motor function which means over time if you smoke it long enough you become lazy and uninterested. The term depressant in the medical field isn’t though of as an instant effect it’s used in the sense of time. Over time marijuana will cause you to become very very dull.
