They are usually kind of long and follow the direction of the ribs, it may wrap around the back. You will also see a roundes or another slit scar from the chest tube the was used to drain the excess blood/ fluid from the chest cavity.

I am 17 and my father has Emphysema I want to know what can he do to get on the lung transplant list as soon as possible because the medication for emphysema cause damage to the kidneys, heart and other organs. Which obviously lowers his chance to get the lungs. ...
